The Daily Operations Log is your farm's diary, digitised

Every feeding, every water change, every reading, every incident, recorded the moment it happens, from a phone in the field, submitted for approval, and kept forever. This is how Livestork becomes the farm's daily operational record, not just its reporting layer.

Incident

From a phone in the barn to an auditable record

The same workflow every day, every batch, every site, so nothing depends on memory.

1

Morning entry, from a phone

Whoever is on the ground, farm hand, supervisor, or manager, opens today's log and adds an entry the moment something happens: feeding, a water change, an inspection round.

2

Conditions and evidence captured

Photo evidence

Environmental readings (temperature, humidity, pH, dissolved oxygen) and photo evidence attach directly to the entry that needs them, not a separate spreadsheet.

3

An incident is never buried

Flagged instantly

Unusual signs get logged as an incident with a severity level the moment they're noticed, visible to the farm manager immediately, not discovered at week's end.

4

Submitted for review

At the end of the day, the log is submitted. Mortality, health events, and vaccinations recorded elsewhere for that batch surface here automatically, read-only, for context.

5

Supervisor approves

Inventory deducted

A supervisor reviews the full day, entries, evidence, linked records, and approves. Approval confirms any linked feed consumption and deducts it from inventory immediately.

6

A permanent, auditable record

Audit-ready

The approved log becomes part of the batch's permanent history: timeline, workflow history, and a full activity audit trail, available for as long as the batch exists.

What the Daily Operations Log includes

Twelve operation types

Feeding, cleaning, water changes, stocking, transfers, inspections, environmental checks, maintenance, treatment, harvest, sanitation, and incidents, all in one place.

Environmental readings

Temperature, humidity, pH, and dissolved oxygen captured directly on an environmental-check entry, no separate log book.

Photo evidence

Attach evidence photos to any entry, plus a documents collection for the log as a whole.

Submit → approve workflow

Drafts are edited freely. Submission locks the day for review; approval confirms linked feed consumption and deducts stock, irreversibly.

Automatic linked rollups

Mortality, health events, vaccinations, and feed logs recorded elsewhere for the batch surface here automatically, read-only, for full daily context.

Daily Operations Coverage score

A 0-100% readiness score computed from entries recorded, feed logs linked, and workflow progress, so gaps are visible before they become a problem.

Full audit trail

Every submission, approval, rejection, and edit is timestamped and attributed, alongside a dedicated activity log for the day.

Works per batch or per site

A log can be scoped to a specific batch, a whole farm site, or both, matching how your team actually walks the farm each day.

Paper diaries, lost notebooks, or missing days

Same-day

Visibility for managers, not a week-end surprise

Common questions

Does the Daily Operations Log replace our paper diary?

Yes. Everything a farm worker used to write in a notebook, feeding times, water changes, unusual observations, cleaning done, treatments applied, has a structured home here instead: dated, attributed to whoever recorded it, and never lost.

Where do egg collection, milk yield, and weight measurements get recorded?

Those live in their own specialised modules, egg and milk output through Production Receipts, weight and body condition through the batch's Performance tab, so each has the right fields for the job. The Daily Log links to them automatically, giving you one place to see the whole day without duplicating data entry.

What happens when a supervisor approves a log?

Approval is the moment the day becomes final. Any feed consumption recorded that day is confirmed and deducted from inventory immediately. This is irreversible by design, so the log always reflects what actually happened, not a draft.

Can field staff use this from a phone in the barn?

Yes. The entry form is built mobile-first: a short list of operation types, minimal required fields, and a camera button for evidence photos, so recording an entry takes seconds, not a trip back to an office computer.

What is the Daily Operations Coverage score?

It's a 0-100% readiness indicator computed from whether entries were recorded, whether feed logs are linked, and how far the workflow has progressed. A low score is a visible signal that a day's records are incomplete before it becomes a compliance problem.
